Radiant Barrier Install

Radiant barrier demonstration. Shown above are two identical sections of insulation. The insulation on the left has been covered with a radiant barrier while the insulation on the right has not been covered. Both sides are exposed to a 240 watt heat lamp for around 35 minutes. As you can see, insulation by itself does a really poor job of keeping out heat. Insulation in conjunction with radiant barrier is hardly affected by the heat lamps. The radiant barrie has the same effect when applied in your attic. It stops your insulation from absorbing heat and transferring that heat into your home.
